Since 1972, the Australian Greek Welfare Society (AGWS) has built a considerable reputation as an innovative and progressive organisation that serves the community with integrity and distinction. 

AGWS is a non-government, ethno specific organisation that provides services to the Australian-Greek community in the areas of community services, aged care, community education, training and child care by targeting individuals, families and the community in general to address their existing and emerging needs.  The services provided by AGWS include:

• Generalist Casework Service;
• Men's and Family Relationship Service ;
• Family and children’s services;
• Volunteers programs (Community Visitors Scheme);
• Aged care services: Planned Activity Groups, Respite Care Program;
• Adult Literacy;
• Community Education and Training;
• Fee for service;
• Cardiac Rehabilitation Program:

Over the years AGWS has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the delivery of services to culturally and linguistically diverse communities. AGWS has also provided training and support to other community organisations, health professionals and services in an effort to enhance their cultural awareness of our community.

It is therefore with this wealth of knowledge and expertise that AGWS has developed its "Cross Cultural Competence" program which this website is dedicated to.
